David Richardson is the Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer at Empire State Realty Trust. He leads the company’s technology vision, innovation strategy, and digital infrastructure through driving enterprise IT strategy, cloud and data modernization, and cybersecurity. Additionally, he is responsible for advancing smart building and sustainability initiatives, enhancing digital tenant experience platforms, and aligning technology investments with long-term business growth and operational excellence.
Mr. Richardson has held leadership roles across manufacturing, industrial products, real estate, retail development, and consumer goods. His experience spans both privately held and publicly traded enterprises with global operations in the U.S., Mexico, China, and Asia. Prior to joining ESRT, he served as President and CEO of JSJ Corporation, where he led digital transformation initiatives, operational restructuring, and global business optimization, driving a 600-basis-point improvement in EBITDA through IT-enabled transformation and global realignment. Previous to JSJ Corporation, he spent ten years at The Taubman Company as Vice President of Information Technology & Tenant Services. He led IT, cybersecurity, and infrastructure operations, modernizing core systems and digital platforms to enhance tenant engagement, operational efficiency, and the guest experience across Taubman’s global retail portfolio.
Mr. Ricardson holds a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in business from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business. He is a JSJ Board Chair representing over 150 stakeholders at JSJ Corporation.
